I just picked up Dragon Age Origins for the PC.

I have never seen a game with so many problems out of the box. This game shouldn't have been released yet. As soon as I get control of my character and try to move, the display cuts out and my monitor says it lost the signal.

After the third crash I went to check out EA's support forum. I really wish I checked that forum before I bought the game. Every other post is about the game crashing with similar results to what I was seeing.

So after another 2 hours of trying the things they suggest I am still at the same point. The only change I saw was when I installed the patch for the game. The official patch actually corrupts one of the dll files and stops the game from launching all together. To fix it you have to manually extract and replace the dll file from the CD.

From some of the posts on their forum it looks like the problems aren't just on the PC version. The XBOX version is having crashing and corruption problems.

So if your planning on picking this game up...I would wait a while.

Agreed - thanks for the heads-up...looks like either CoD:MW2 or GTA4:BoGT will be my next game then.

I'm thinking about getting a ps3 for x-mas. Going to give CoD:MW2 a try on that. The multiplayer looks great.
