ok, check it out
http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/priests2/talents.html

I'm so confused.  I will have no clue how to spec with this.  We can choose between improving our ability to heal, or improving our mana pool, but not both.  I mean, the new Holy and Disc final talents are awesome!  But if you go that far in...you can't get to the good stuff (like mental str 10% mana) which used to be easier to get at in the tree.

This is gonna change our class...ALOT!  Mc is gonna have some different strategies with rogues and off tanks running to the Lightwell for healing, lol.

Looking at this, I think it would be super uber if I could just get to Mental Str!  grr... loosing about 740 mana sucks.
Well, after having a panic attack (j/k..sort of), and dinking around a bit, I came up with 3 options.  This one is a combo trying to get some of the healing benefits, as well as the additional mana and regen skills:
http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/priests2/talents.html?50520013050510023055100230210000000000000000000

This is going more for pure healing.  That LightWell looks too awesome.  But I'd give up some mana and regen abilities:

Thirdly, this would be a healing + self survivability template (less dying in MC?):
http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/priests2/talents.html?50520013300000003255130030211510000000000000000

Almost...I want to throw about 40 points into Holy now  wow, those are some BIG changes.

Thoughts? Oppinions? Help?

I saw the preview posted near the end of a long day at work yesterday. I glanced over the talents, read Eyonix's letter and then my brain melted and dribbled out my ear (what little there is). I have no clue! lol.

I like my current template and my last template a lot. Of course those aren't an option anymore when the talents and spells change.

Lightwell looks really good. 5 people X 1600 healing with no aggro is a pretty juicy talent. This will definately get incorporated into endgame raiding strategies..

The 31 point Disc talent looks good, *BUT* I can't help but notice that it only lasts 15 seconds and has a 3 min cool down. +20% dam/heal is nice, but you are only going to get a 4 or 5 spells in during that time. It's cool that it is castable on others.

I definately see some very nice improvements. I used to have to choose between meditation/divine spirit and inpiration/crit heals. I was quickly able to get a template that had both. Woot!

It looks like there are enough boosts to healing throughput in Holy to make up for some losses in mana efficiency in Disc. I am guessing I will be heavier into Holy again like I was before.

It looks like I will likely lose Mental Strength too. It''ll be tough losing 700 from my mana pool, but the other bonuses to healing and regen look like they will make up for it. My pool is big enough. The pace we set in SLACK MC raids is frantic for healers and regen and +healing is better for me than a monstrous mana pool. We pull non-stop through those trash mobs.

Your first 27 Disc / 24 Holy looks good.  I can’t fault it.  There are so many good talents to choose.

Your second template with 19 Disc / 32 Holy looks good too.  I would highly recommend getting Spiritual Guidance instead of Spiritual Healing if you only have points for one or the other.  Honestly when I saw that talent, I thought it was a tad overpowered.  I have about 280 spirit BEFORE I get the Dancing Silver staff with +20 spirit enchant I’ve been working on (will give me another +49 spirit total for around 330 spirit).  That will give me +82 to healing AND damage!!!!  Spiritual Healing is nice too with a +10% to healing, but it is only healing.

Your third one is similar to the second but with Blessed Recovery.  That looks like a good talent too.  I think it might be better for PvP, but it could have uses in PVE.  Healing 25% of a crit over 6 sec is nice.  You’ll get hit with crits in PvP, but you just don’t get hit as much at all in PVE.  I am not saying it is a bad talent to take, just pointing out that observation.

I’ll tell you what, Holy Nova is going to be a very well used spell in 40-person raids after the change.  It may not do a lot to a single person on it’s own, but can you see what it will do if you get all 40 people stacked up like they do on a core hound pack pull with 4 or 5 priests spamming this spell?  WOOT! Which the Novas fly!  We’ll be doing AE damage while tagging all 40 people with heals and ZERO aggro :-)   gotta love THAT action.

Lightwell?  WOW that sounds like fun :-).  5 x 1600 = 8000 points healed for under 500 mana (rank 1 is 225 mana, not sure what final rank costs).  Sure, you can’t heal a tank with it (damage taken stops process), but this is going to make after wipe recovery and trash mob mowing fly!

Here is my “Monster of Healing +Lightwell” template I will probably use.  It has a bunch of my favorites, but it gives up Meditation and Divine Spirit :-(

I threw in wand specialization instead of silent resolve.  This might actual make my priest able to solo stuff and farm decently.  It isn’t a shadow spec, but it would have fast enough smites and holy fires with wands to get the job done.

Here is what I would do for a regen template (higher giscipline).  The 31 point Disc talent just doesn’t grab me, but that is my personal tastes.  It’s a good talent.  I put together a template that gives me Divine Spirit and Meditation like I currently have.  I still ended up with a lot in Holy.  I guess I like that talent tree a lot.  I’ll call this my Divine Spirit build:

The reason i picked spiritual healing is because my spirit kind of sucks,  I think I have 223 is all, and no spirit enchants.  I was looking at the Healing as the thing for INT priests and the Guidance for SPI priests....or something, lol.

Anyway, I do like your Holy template, tha looks good.   There is so much good to choose from all over the place now!  lol.

Well, I expect there will be a lot of testing and respeccing after this goes live.  BTW, is there a cap on money spent respeccing, or will I eventually be paying 900g to do this?  I mean, my last respec cost 25g, and I've never gone highre than that....

I was wondering if you guys thought it might be a good idea (once a little testing has taken place) to have a sign-up for various priest builds. That way people can choose the way they want to play and we'll still be able to cover all bases in a raid situation. For example:

2 priests Inspiration/crit heals/meditation/spiritual guidance for spamming small heals on the MT.
3-4 priests main-healer specced (improved greater heal, spiritual healing, etc)
4 priests with Lightwell (can overlap with the others)
1-2 priests with Divine Spirit
1 priest with the 31 disc talent
2-6 priests with Holy Nova (depending on testing and whether it's determined to be worth it)
Etc.

I don't know how you guys do it at the moment, but this way everyone would know what their job would be in any raid situation.

Just a thought.

Actually Raspus, that is a very good idea.  It would be hard to convince people to spec a certain way sometimes, but the fortuante thing is..So many people have different play styles, and these new talents give numerous good options (as opposed to the 2 or 3 good healing specs that existed before) I expect we will get quite a variation in the end.  I really love the look of lightwell, but reading WoW forum posts, it looks like lots of priests don't think they are gonna go for it.

When the test server opens up, I'm sure we'll all be over there trying things :-)  Maybe we can work out something like your variation just inside our own guild for testing purposes and see how it works.
