Here is the hit list for the Master Dragon
Hunters (a name I made up, has nothing to do with actual Blizz quest content).
They are all named and mostly elite dragons in the
outdoors world of Azeroth. Some are guarded by ferocious elite
minions making them very tough. Only the most courageous
dragon hunting heros in Azeroth can kill them all!
I will be planning hunting safaris as time permits to hunt down these
infamous dragons! We will collect screenshots of the corpses as
our trophies to prove our prowess and valor.
Master Dragon
Hunters Trophy List:
Axtroz, 62 (elite)
Azuregos, BOSS
Azurous, 56-59 (elite)
Backlash, 57 (elite)
Brimgore, 45 (elite)
Chronalis, 61 (elite)
Dreamroarer, 62 (elite)
Dreamstalker, 62 (elite)
Dreamtracker, 62 (elite)
Emberstrife, 61 (elite)
General Colbatann, 57 (elite)
Hematos, 60 (elite)
Hematus, 56 (elite)
Lethlas, 62
Lord Captain Wyrmak, 45 (elite)
Manaclaw, 58 (elite)
Nal'taszar, 35 (elite)
Narillasanz, 44 (elite)
Occulus, 48-50 (elite)
Phantim, 62 (elite)
Rothos, 62 (elite)
Scryer, 60 (elite)
Singe, 24 (elite)
Snarlflare, 18
Somnus, 62 (elite)
Spellmaw, 56 (elite)
Teremus the Devourer, BOSS
Tick, 52 (elite)
(note: This is a fun roleplaying-style
long-term adventure for our guild for those who are interested.
I've researched the locations and information for all of these named
dragons).

I have just learned Dragonscale Leatherworking and would love the oppurtunity to skin a few dragons.

Thanks for the additional information Gnelza!!! That name sounded
familiar. When I was doing my research, it said that Somnus was
found in the Sunken Temple dungeon. I am only listing dragons and
dragonkin that are outdoors. I did some more research and found
descriptions of people fighting Somnus outside the dungeon in the Swamp
of Sorrows near the ST. I added Somnus to the list.

We've haven't tried in a while. There was mixed responses in the past. Sometimes, a lot of people showed up for the fun. Sometimes there wasn't enough. You can see from the dates of the posts that it has been a long time.
I still think it is a fun idea. We took down a couple of them. The fight in the northern hinterlands with Dreamtracker (?? is that the right one? one of the "Dream" dragons) was a real challenge. He had interesting abilities -- one was the ability to phase out like an imp. We could not hit him then and he would fly around and then phase back in for attack. |

I would love to include something like this in one of our guild events...however, my understanding is that they dont spawn at specific times so it would be virtually impossible for me to plan one of these in advance. |

What we did in the past is gather a group of players into a raid, then
we just started hunting dragons on the list. I planned the events so
that we could try a couple areas near each other to make it efficient.
I have a detailed roster with map locations and everything available in the downloads section of the library.
The
nice thing is that not all the dragons are super tough. It really can
be a fun social event with people of many different levels. Although
going into some of the areas is tough for people who are too low.
Blizz added some more dragons since I made the list.
My original plan was to hunt them *all* and take trophy shots of the
corpses. I have the photos from the previous dragon hunts.
I was going to be a fun, long-term social/role-playing project that was
more about the good times.

I uploaded the screenshots from prior Master Dragon Hunter safaris. Sorry about the poor quality, the conversion utility I used deleted the originals after it converted them to low-res jpg's :-(.
These were a lot of fun. Makes me want to do these again and go after more on the list. There really is no point to killing most of them except the fun of hunting them down. It was a lot of fun though. They mostly tucked away in little corners of various zones that people never see. So you get to explore and see some of the beautiful Blizz artwork along the way. |
