Lol, I totally screwed up my respec. I had the whole thing planned out in advance. I was going to go all the way down to 41 points in Subtlety so I could play with Shadowstep. I spent all my points, went out to the Burning Steppes to practice on some mobs and WHAMO! I realized they had not made the changes. The 41 points talent was Cloak of Shadows (wipes all negative spell effects and makes you 90% immune to magic for 5 seconds). Shadowstep isn't in the game yet. DOH!
They also did not swap Improved Back Stab and Slice N Dice between the two talent trees like they were supposed to, AND Improved Sap was did not switch with Elusiveness in the Subtlety tree.
This was my planned template I had made at wowhead.com
Assassination (8 points) 5/5 Malice 3/3 Improved Backstab Combat (2 points) 2/2 Improved Sinister Strike Subtlety (41 points) 4/5 Master of Deception 5/5 Opportunity 2/2 Improved Sap 4/5 Camouflage 3/3 Initiative 3/3 Improved Ambush 2/2 Elusiveness 1/1 Preparation 2/2 Dirty Deeds 3/3 Master of Subtlety 5/5 Deadliness 1/1 Premeditation 5/5 Sinister Calling 1/1 Shadowstep
I noticed while testing it in Arathi Basin last night that I had MUCH higher burst damage from Amubush and Backstabs. My AP went up a lot through the higher tier Subtlety Talents.
I really didn't get much of a chance to test Cloak of Shadows. So I can't really report on that yet.

Is this a PVP or PVE/raid build? Also what was your reason for not getting hemo? I'm not saying you should've but I'm curious why you didn't, most subtlety builds seem to have hemo in place of SS
It sucks that you didn't notice shadowstep wasn't there until it was too late. You didn't notice that it said CoS when you selected the 41 point talent? Or were you too busy dreaming about jumping behind blink'd mages? |

WoW is the best way to get wife aggro Ashallar (60 Pally -Alc), Vadik (5x Warrior) -members Aerili (5x Mage- Ench), Narisa (3x Rogue- LW), Blackfist (29 pseudo-twink)- not members yet. |

I was all giddy with excitement on the thoughts of mage gankery. The words did not even process in my brain as I clicked it. I didn't notice until I was working my quickbar back into shape on the griffon to Burning Steppes.
This is definately a daggers-only PVP build with lots of pvp ultility. It's for devastating opener attacks and then quick escapes. It's gives you that intense rush of up-front burst damage and burst combo point generation. It does NOT work well on long fights in PVE.
Typical opener for me is Premeditation > Ambush > Backstab > gouge > 5 point evisc
or for those mage bastiches! Premeditation > Ambush > jump through and 180 spin > gouge > backstab > 5 point evisc
That usually pumps a good 3000+ points of damage out in a couple seconds.
Hemo is *NOT* good for daggers because of the mechanics. You need the biggest, slowest weapon possible because Hemorage did not get the weapon speed normalization nerf (it uses the avg base damage). Daggers need to use Sinister Strikes as their any-direction combo point generator because it does a fixed amount of bonus damage in addition to normal weapon damage.
You also have to spend 3 additional points in Serated Blades to get to Hemo. I wanted other stuff. Serated Blades is nice, and the +30% rupture damage is tempting. I can't use Rupture in PvP much with my playstyle because it tends to break the CC I need to use. I also want to take enemies down VERY fast and then disappear. Rupture is a slow kill. I will be very tempted to use it more when Garrote silences casters (the silence part is the level 61 talent and therefore not implemented yet).
I'm not really into the pure stunlock playstyle in PvP. That's really the only purpose for having Hemo. It only uses 35 energy which opens up a few different stunlock chains easier.

| I took the 10/41 style of Assassination/combat...and am rather underwhelmed. |
|
When in doubt...hit something as hard as possible.
Shut up and Reboot. |
