Ok so I am having major technical difficulties with my saitek keyboard at the moment. I came home last night after class and found my computer on, something (most likely juice) spilled on a couple of the keys, and a ton of programs and windows opened. (Love my kids though!)
Well, everything was working fine - until I noticed in game that my = and - keys weren't working. But still everything was fine. I then went to the mailbox to mail some items to my bank alt, and noticed that I couldn't type anything in the "to" line. Nor could I type anything in chat, but I could use buttons to access character screens/the chat bar. I just couldn't type in it.
I then exited the game to see if I could type in word, and noticed when I right click on an icon on my desktop - it opens the "properties" window instead of opening the program/link.
So I right clicked/open on word and started typing - and instead of typing usually it typed characters and/or zoomed the pages out to full page view.
I did a system restore and that seemed to work. Then I pushed the esc key and everything was messed up again. If I had an icon highlighted on my desktop, or programs open - esc acted as a tab through all the open windows and icons I had clicked on recently.
I did a second system restore, and stole my dad's keyboard. This worked again. Then I attempted to retry my keyboard, it was messed up, then I plugged my dad's keyboard back in and the bug carried over to his keyboard. 3rd system restore, I then uninstalled the drivers for my keyboard to see if that worked, but it made my computer freak out when I plugged the keyboard into a port (beeping and not allowing the computer to boot.), so I then rebooted with my dad's keyboard again.
Working fine - but my keyboard is clean, no keys are stuck, it's only a year old and in good shape. I've dismantled it once before to fix my spacebar, and to clean it, with no problems.
Anyone know what it could be?

| Juice was spilled on the keyboard? when you cleaned your keyboard, did you open it up and see if you had juice making circuit connections where there shouldn't have been? (i.e., by "clean", did you open it up and look at the guts?) |

Oy no...because I have to take out like 50 screws to get into the actual circuit board. Guess I'm gonna have to go do that. = / |

I'm with Sabre on this. The no longer thirsty keyboard probably has several shorts causing all the wacky hijinks. Best case, you gut it and clean it off and it'll work again. More likely though is that the spill has caused some permanent damage and it may be a lost cause |
