I'm a little confused on something. Is finding of new recipes related your Mastery selection or only to the chance that I may create extra potions/elixirs? I'm trying to discover more recipes.
Are discoveries based on your Master of or is it just random and you only have to be creating a recipe found in Outlands?
Thottbot has anectdotal information that people find certain things more often while creating certain things but I really don't know if it is just by chance or if there really is something to making the right potion to increase the chance of discovering what you are looking for. |

I think you are talking about recipe discovery.
I believe it is totally random. People noticing discovery while doing something else are just making a false mental association IMO. It's not a cause & effect relationship.
Your mastery does not effect discovery from what i've read.
I have never discovered new recipes on Trefalgarr, and he has been lvl 375/Potion Master for a while. Granted, I don't make a ton of potions. I just make them for personal use. I would think that I should have activated a discovery at least one time by now though :-( |

I've discovered almost all of the cauldrons since they are discovered with a fairly high frequency. Just missing the Cauldron of Frost Protection. For some reason I have a hard time getting the motes of water needed to make the Primal Water needed for the recipe.
I've discovered a few recipes with Flask of Fortification being the most recent as of last night. I think it popped off of creating Super Mana Potions or Agility potions.
For some reason I'm addicted to discovering new recipes. I guess the good thing is that I can usually sell on AH or always give the potions/elixirs away to guild members that I'm making in pursuit of this personal "discovery" quest I have going on. If anyone needs any alchemy items either look me up in game or send mail with mats and I'll make it and send it back to you. I have a large supply or herbs but I'm slowly dwindling it down. Lower level alchemy items I might even have the materials so no cost if you just request it. I need to clean out my bank since I have about 4 bags of low level herbs just sitting around. |

| The lake in the north part of Terrokar Forest has tons of eels in it. Those drop motes of water at a decent rate -- i'd say 1 mote every 3 eels or so. Just make sure you have some nagrand cherries or water breathing potions. You hang out under the water and do a slaughter-fest :-) That spot is nice because the eels are pretty low level compared to other spots, so they die quick. |

| Thanks for the tip! I've been farming the water elementals at Skyguard camp there but it is hard for a frost mage since they are immune to frost spells. |
