Yes, however it's only useful if you have items with sockets for the gems.

Also I have a stockpile of gems available for cutting if you don't have your own already. Just ask!

Thick Felsteel Necklace is a SUPER upgrade for anyone doing PvP until they can get the purple Veteran's neck. Materials should be about 40g or so. That's not too expensive.

My jewelcrafting is at 403. I am doing the daily quests to collect tokens to buy patterns with but I haven't spent any yet. If there is a gem (pattern) that someone would like let me know and I'll get the pattern. If I have gems in stock I'll cut them for any guildie for free with my mats.

On Sunday, 01/054/09, I will have the pattern for the Titanium Spellshock Ring. The stats on the ring are +48 stamina, +33 Intellect, 1 Red socket with a +5 spell power socket bonus, improves critical strike rating by 43, and increases spell power by 49. For those interested the material requirements are 2 titanium bars, 4 Dragon Eyes, 4 Eternal Waters, 4 Eternal Airs, and 1 Frozen Orb. Also there are a lot of gem and jewelry patterns available. If there is something specific you are looking for please let one of us know.
