Juzus is completely holy specced, yet my chance to crit is almost 15%.  Is this too high for a paly?  I'm wondering if I'm focusing to much on the wrong things.  At the last Ony raid, I was 15th/40 in damage and 4th/40 in healing?  I have no idea if this is good or bad.....

Please share your thoughts...., especially you other palys...

Juzus - 60 Dwarf Paladin - 305 Mining - 300 Axesmith (Blackfury and BlackAmnesty)
Scorne - 60 Human Mage - 300 Alchemist (Flasks: Petrification, Distilled Wisdom, Supreme Power and Titans, Major Troll's Blood, Mageblood)
Larcenyss - 60 Night Elf Rogue - 305 Skinner
Nymphet - 60 Human Warrior - 300 Armorsmith (ALL Dark Iron Armor, Whitesoul Helm, Enchanted Thorium, All 3 pieces of both Bloodsoul and Darksoul)
Rager - 60 Night Elf Hunter - 300 Gnomish Enginner

My Paladin is only lvl 49, but this is how I have him planned out.  He was actually my first character, but he dropped down in priority a long time ago when the guild was so short on active priests.

Holy Talents (37 points)
·  Divine Intellect - 5/5 points
·  Spiritual Focus - 5/5 points
·  Improved Seal of Righteousness - 5/5 points
·  Consecration - 1/1 point
·  Healing Light - 3/3 points
·  Improved Lay on Hands - 2/2 points
·  Unyielding Faith - 2/2 points
·  Illumination - 5/5 points
·  Improved Blessing of Wisdom - 2/2 points
·  Divine Favor - 1/1 point
·  Holy Power - 5/5 points
·  Holy Shock - 1/1 point

Protection Talents (14 points)
·  Redoubt - 5/5 points
·  Guardian's Favor - 2/2 points
·  Precision - 3/3 points
·  Improved Righteous Fury - 3/3 points
·  Blessing of Kings - 1/1 point

Retribution Talents (0 points)
·  None

As you can see, he is also heavy into Holy like you are saying Juzus is spec'd.  Paladins in the community forums have forever cried about not doing enough melee DPS.  Blizzard never intended them that way.  I see them as being very very strong group support characters -- buffs, heals, off-tanking, anti-wipe.

Instead of trying to pump up my already week melee dps to the point of being passable and mediocre, i pump up what I am already strong at so I can be even better.

The 1.9 patch and Holy line changes gave paladins the option of basically becoming heavily armored DPS casters.  I know they can't tank endgame bosses effectively, but I find that I can hold aggro on a single mob with Improved Righteous Fury and lots of Holy dmg spells (holy shock, consecration, judged seal righteousness blasts, seal of righteousness, etc.) in small groups if I want to.  Of course when I am tanking, I use up a lot of mana and can't heal good.

It isn't strange at all that you were #4 in healing and way down the list in DPS in a big boss fight.  That IMO is a good solid place for a paladin to end up.  It is great when paladins are healing the other members in a group so that the Resto Druid or Priest can heal the tanks.

I am always so impressed when there is a very active and attentive paladin in 5-man groups to high end dungeons.  Those groups run much faster and smoother.

Something else to remember: Ony Phase 2 pretty much kills melee DPS -- very tricky to actually be able to hit.

Pallies have some short ranged casting abilities -- which would help your dmg #s

Sabre (70 warrior)
Sceptre (70 warlock)
Thornkiss (70 priest)
Chibi (62 rogue)
and a slew of others, 9 - 53

Heh; we all know Juzus is above average -- just trying to figure out how he'd end up 15/40 in Onyxia (i wouldn't be surprised if he was above at least several rogues)

You know, I've tried everything to hit that flying lizard in phase 2, even holy shock doesn't seem to reach.  I've relegated to pure healing during phase 2.  With my FR where it is, I stand out in the middle and wait for somebody with slow reflexes to get hit with her bad breath and heal them.  I've taken two direct deep breaths and survived with my FR gear and greater fire potions.  I'm hoping it helps during phase 2 if I'm running around trying to find the people about to die and heal them as I know the cloth healers are probably afraid to leave there spots cuz they'll be fried.

Phase 1 and 3, I'm just smackin' her for all it's worth and trying to keep judgement of light pasted on her.

BTW, when I was in MC the other night, with all the buffs and mongoose potions and elemental sharpening stones, my crit chance was like 22-24%.  I thought that was pretty good considering I wear my Lawbringer and Light/soulforge stuff all the time.  Imagine me with a Lionheart helm some of those gauntlets and those leggings that add 2%.

Destroyadin FTW!!!!

I continue to be amazed at where I end up on the damage meters, and I know they are not perfect, but it seems consistent.  In MC, during Shaz and Baron and Domo, I'm healing the whole time and not even fighting and ending up like top 15-20.  Which isn't real impressive until you look at the classes that are below me.  I think we have some people showing up and just putting themselves on follow....

In MC, I'm consistently top DPS warrior -- of course, I often am job-free, so out comes the 2hander

otoh, you've got a brutal crit-chance going there (+4 from the pots and stones is a very pretty thing), and if your tier 0/1 is like warriors (to lazy to go chk and cant recall), the tier 0 actually provides better dps stuff (agility, +AR) than your tier 1.

as for ony.... now i'm stumped. rock on!!
