This goes to any experienced Herbalists and/or Alchemists.

I'm currently an Herb/Alch. I chose this to make money, and to be usefull by making Pot's for everyone/anyone.

My question is this...it's really simple so don't sweat it...it's not like a pop quiz or anything. Which Herbs/Pots sell for the best profit? And my last question; Which recipes should I have? I've been trying to obtain everyone that I can, but frankly, it's draining my Bank account.

From my expierence always sell in blocks of 20.
I dont sell potions, only herbs and the ones that i get the most money for now are liferoot, stranglekelp, mageroyal and briarthron. Haven't tried any of the higher herbs cause i'm useing them at the moment to make potions for me to use.
I generally look at what other people are selling theirs for and gauge my prices by the selling rate.

As far as which ones you should have....i only try and have the ones that i can make now. I do have one or two for future brewing but generally if i can make it i dont buy it.
Hope that helps.

I personally don't spend a lot on potion recipes on the AH. I get them all myself. The high-priced ones are simply NOT worth the investment. You will never ever make your money back buying recipes that cost hundreds or even thousands of gold (because there is almost no markup on potions)

The crafting economy in WoW doesn't exist IMO. Blizzard is not interested in making the crafting part of the game have much impact on the economy, not compared to something like Star Wars Galaxies or other games.

Potions sell for about the same price as the materials cost to make them. There is almost no markup. It's much easier to just sell the herbs you gather if you want to make money. I've even seen periods where Flasks are selling for not much more than the materials :-(, and those you have to fight down into the middle of Scholomance to use the alchemy lab.

High end herbs that are valuable:

#1 Dreamfoil. This is an ingredient in a majority of high-end potions and flasks. They sell for about 1g or more each.

Others:

Black Lotus sell for 5g to 20g each depending on supply demand. They are required for Flasks and are rare spawns (kind of like Arcane Crystals for mining)

Commonly 1g each for these herbs:
Gromsblood
Mountain Silversage
Ghost Mushrooms (hard to find, only grow in caves and instance dungeons)
Icecap

Othere herbs that sell ok:
Plaguebloom
Sungrass (sometimes)
Blindweed
Goldthorn
Purple Lotus
Swiftthistle
Grave Moss (sometimes)
Kingsblood (many use this as a turn in item for Thorium Brotherhood faction quest)
