Almost all priests work their way up the Discipline talent tree to some extent.  The first choices for talents are:

Unbreakable Will (5/5):  Increase resistance to fear by 10%

Wand Specialization (5/5): Increases wand damage 25%.

You have to put a total of 5 points into one or both talents to gain access to the next higher level talents.  Most good raid priests see the resistance to fear and say "GREAT! that will be more useful than a little more wand DPS."

**PROBLEM**
Yes, there is actually a serious problem when you resist a boss mob's fear.  It often wipes the main tank's aggro (and everyone else doing dps that's affected).  You are standing there all smug cause you are not afraid while everyone else runs around screaming like children.  BOOM! you are dead before you know it.  Why?  Cause you just became boss enemy #1.  Your healing aggro suddenly tops the charts while everyone else runs around with the purple skulls over their head.  You are wearing a bathrobe as armor and 1 or 2 quick hits sends you to the floor to taste the dirt.

I was reading about this on VN boards previously and then forgot about it.  I've noticed that I die EVERY time I go to Onyxia though.  Last night we took her down.  I was watching very carefully.  I died on Phase 3 before I knew what hit me.  It was right after the first fear blast (and I was not feared).  Then Clearwood got me back up, and BOOM I died again.

The only other fight I can think of that Unbreakable Will might help on is Magmadar.  Even then, you can position yourself to avoid most of the fears.  I have to conclude that this talent hurts us more than helps us in endgame raiding.  I am getting out of it ASAP and putting the points into wands.  It's not that I care about my wand dps.  It's that I actually *need* to get feared when everyone else gets feared in order to stay alive and be effective.

I remember this being brought up once also, about mags.  We weren't doing Ony back then and mags never ran at me if the tank got feared...seemed like someone else always bit it. 
But ye, I die way too much in phase 3 also.  Thanks for reminding us of this Tref :-)  time to go respec.....again.

I think it would only be viable if you are a Dwarven priest(or have one in the raid) so that the MT doesn't get feared as well.

If the MT does not get feared, you are generally ok.
