Wow, someone likes the protection tree
I've heard people saying that a full spec in the protection tree doesn't give much benefit over just going a little into it. I have no lvl 60 experience as a tank so I wouldn't know, so does it help being full prot specd? |

Vadik.
In 5- and 10-mans, protection was great!
Then came raiding (40 mans) where nothing was stunnable and all you really needed (increased armor or defense, more blocks) could be had within tier 1/2/3 of protection.
In the 20-mans (ZG/AQ20), stuff's stunnable again. Higher levels of protection starts to make sense again, although if you're overarmored for the instance (*cough* sabre in ZG *cough cough*) it doesn't really matter.
Guess what TBC is? 5- and 10-mans! And have you LOOKED at what the high-end of prot has now? +5% to your total health (sabre can get real close to 8K. That should go up with the increase in lvls, and even right now that's +400 health. The 41-pointer? 5-sunder the critter, then watch your DPS go way up (instant-cast attack which costs the same as sunder, keeps the sunder debuff up, yet actually does damage! woot!)
Reading between the lines, the top-end instances are going to be HARD. Look at what they're giving people. "Raiding" is 10-25 people, and the difficulty is going to be BWL/Naxx and harder? I predict the re-emergence of protection as a much-needed tree. |

So it seems they are making Warriors full tanks, Pally's are the mid ground now, and rogues and Mages are still the DPSers?
I haven't spent much time looking at the warrior talents, I'll have to spend more time messing with the tree I guess. Did not know that info about the raiding, it makes more sense now. |

Warriors can spec for DPS (fury), tanking (prot), or a hybrid-esque build (arms -- yeah, it leans towards DPS but when you're looking at being geared out, Fury is much more DPS than arms -- and fury's highend is pushes hard towards zerker stance).
warriors will still be able to make a choice -- but a pally who's specced for tanking's probably going to be a better tank than a fury warrior.
differentiation may actually start mattering now *looks shocked* |

with the newest mods to the warrior talent trees, I currently like this as a prot/arms build
One comment: the 4 points in anticipation can go anywhere in the first 5 tiers. I wouldn't actually put them in anticipation, but since i'm not precisely sure where they'd go it's a handy place to keep them all in a bunch.
