OK guys, I've bought WoW for 3 months now and still havnt got a high lvl char. I'm still in the period when u try out every class.

I don't mind restarting another alt but I NEED to stick with it until lvl 70. So im gonna do a lil survey here and hopefully find my true love(class)

1. Which class is your main?
2. Which class do you find the most dynamic when it comes to lvling.
3. (Insert the class here)-Which class do u find fun to play at high lvl (60-70)

ok heres my preference, plz state a few class that would suit me well
I like classes that:

Lvls fast
Effective in group
Effective in BG/PvP
Fun at high end content.

Plz help me im going through a in game depression now. My Rl Friends are able to stick to one char but I can't!

1: I have two, Sabre (warrior) and Sceptre (warlock)
2: Sceptre was FAR easier to lvl than Sabre (of course, I leveled him to 60 in a prot spec back before it received some nice buffs). Thornkiss (my lvl 50 priest) had some rough levels early but hasn't been too bad overall. Chibi (my 60 rogue) was also easier than Sabre -- and vanish has always been too much fun.
3: I enjoy all 3 of my 60+ chars -- it depends on what I feel like that day.

You seem to be focussed on leveling (ideally quickly). However, different people have different ways of playing, and those play-styles impact leveling speeds: my mage seems to be eternally stuck at 22, yet I know others who have leveled mages at incredible rates.

Don't worry about leveling quickly: make sure you're having fun (the levels will come of their own accord). Realize that every single class has some "dry spots", levels which just don't go as quickly (and sometimes which just aren't as enjoyable). Your sig shows a hunter, a druid, and a mage. 2 ranged fighters, one melee fighter (i'm assuming the druid is feral). One pet class. What did you like about those 3? What didn't you like? Why? It may help you in figuring out a better "fit" (you've got them all into mid-20s or higher, so you're at least starting to get an idea of how the class plays out).

Furthermore, what's wrong w/ multiple chars? Sure, you level more slowly because your time is split out amongst multiple characters. On the other hand, when you just don't want to play 1 today, you have others that aren't low-lvl alts I leveled both Chibi and Sabre at the same time, and although I don't remember exact dates, I know it was quite a bit more than 3 months before I got them to 60.

Bottom line: don't stress about hitting the magical 7-0. Don't worry about your "RL friends". As long as you're having fun, that's all that matters.

I would highly recommend focusing on a single character and leveling them as fast as is comfortable and fun for you. That's my opinion. WoW is no longer a new game, and a large part of the guild and server activity is at the max levels. In order to be a part of "the groups" socially, you really need a high level character.

Your fastest route would be to pick a character you already have time invested into. You will also find it easier to do things if you have a more group-friendly and lower-population character. Of your 3 toons, I would say the Mage is the best bet as long as you have fun playing a Mage. Outlands instances need a lot of crowd control to make them easier. Mage's sheep ability is great. Also, their AE damage is nice in a lot of places. They do pretty good in PvP too with the right talents and gear.

If you can stick to it, a Shaman might also be a good option. I still haven't seen a single Shaman in any group i've been in so far (in the Outlands). I think i've only seen a couple high level alliance Shamen. I suspect you would be much appreciated in groups if you could get one to level 70.

I have limited game playing time. So my character strategy is always to have a highly group-friendly character as my primary character -- in WoW I picked a healing priest. That gets me into groups easier on my play schedule. I enjoy it too, so it's not some big sacrifice.

My secondary character is a Rogue. I play him because I really like the class, and I like to PvP as a rogue. It's a great break from the stress of healing and group play. *BUT* I make sure to focus much more on getting my Priest leveled up and geared up first.

Focus on 1 as much as you can. I would really not recommend paying any attention to more than 2 characters until your first is max level.

Thaanks for the help. I think im gonna stick with my feral druid. I like classes that can take a lot of damage like tanks. How fast can a druid lvl? I guess I'm gonna focus on him right now and be able to join guild events asap. Im almost done getting all the bg items for my lvl and soon gonna lvl up to 40 in 2 weeks(my spring break is 2w).

Btw, do feral druid get in groups easily? I can switch to resto later on.

Some of the classes level up a little faster than others. ALL classes in wow can level up at a reasonable pace if you get a solo-friendly, leveling talent template for that class.

Druids -- Feral for leveling
Priests -- Shadow for leveling
Paladins -- Retribution for leveling
etc., etc.

Feral druids and grouping. Back before TBC, it was definitely a less-than-loved spec for end-game (up until then it was fine, but you had to expect to be heal if you were in a group since healers are always in short supply).

60-70, feral druids haven't had the grouping issues: sometimes they're tanks, sometimes DPS, sometimes healers (again, healers are still in short supply)

70-end game? It's really too soon to tell.

Remember though, a good part of your levelling process is going to be solo: it's just how the game is these days.  Make sure you can solo successfully

1. I have 3 mains - 70 druid, 60 rogue, 64 priest. My "true" main is my druid.
2. When it comes ot speed and flexibility/no down time for leveling - I would stick with Rogue, Warlock (LT ftw), Warrior - any "no mana" class. Hunters leveling quickly as well.
3. I have 3 druids on my account. Nuff said. I love healing, healing is and always will be my specialty. I have 2 classes that I have healed on extensively. Healing can get kinda boring at times though.

Lvls fast - Rogues, Hunters, Warlocks
Effective in group - any.
Effective in BG/PvP - any.
Fun at high end content - any.

I do have to admit - druids level slow.
This what I would do if I were you: Play a druid. . But while you are playing it, notice HOW you play. Are you usually in caster? Bear? Cat? Do you enjoy healing, or nuking?

When you figure out your play style - roll the class that complements that play style.

My druid is the main reason I rolled a rogue and a priest.

As for leveling speed/ease: I find warlocks, rogues and hunters to be pretty fast in leveling. Hunters and locks can handle more then one mob at a time, which is pretty fun. Rogues can get kinda iffy when it comes to more then one target though, but I still leveled my rogue fairly quickly.

i didnt knew druid can lvl slow, i thought that self-heal will give u no downtime when grinding. what makes them slow to lvl?

Im pretty sure to stick with my druid/Dr00d(lol), its fun to get a lot of attention in bg.

Well, they might not level slow now because of all the changes, but it took me over a year to get Io to 60. I am gonna be leveling my other druids, so we shall see.

I have a hordie druid at 34. He's grouped all the time (RL friends, play 1 X a week), but he's seemed to move along quite quickly.

I found that no matter what the class you can level quickly if you play with a friend around the same level. I did a lot of solo stuff with my hunter, which was my first toon. Then decided to try a warrior. My warrior moved up at a lightning pace when I started regularly grouping with a priest. He was having trouble leveling by himself since he was holy spec and I was in need of some healing while I pummled everything in sight. It was a great mix.

I never really tried to get a toon to a higher level. Yes I wanted to play the big kid instances, but I enjoy the social aspect of grouping for quests and instances that I look forward to that more than anything else.

The bottom line is, no matter which toon grabs your heart, you need to enjoy it. When you find pleasure in adventuring on your character the leveling is going to just happen.

You will talk to this person and they prefer a mage, but this person cant stand a squishy caster and has the tank warrior. Then you find the druid which is a very diverse class and the warlock that gets to be evil...lol. What I'm saying is, no one can tell you which toon is best for you. Thats something you have to decide for yourself. Its not all about leveling but enjoying the game and the people you play with. I have found that the ones that tend to stay with the game the longest are the ones that play it more for the social value and a place to get away and relax. It shouldnt be a place to stress out.

Hunter, beast spec rocks leveling, I can still grind out a level a day in my late 60's if i play more than a few hours. in fact it took me 6 hours solo between quests/grinding from 65 to 66. At low levels i was still able to grind out many levels a day if i had a few days of rested built up. in fact i was able to do 2+ levels a day until i got into my mid 40's.
Rogue is a REALLY fun char to play also, used to be combat spec, but changed to subtlety, i have been running solo stealth runs into scarlet monestary since dalthain was 33. 5 deaths for every 15 gold or so stolen,(blind feign vanish) and a repair bill of less than 80 silver (ubertwinky.)

Warrior i have dakaron at level 60, he is a blast for grouping, aggro control is a blast in instances when you have crap gear and 3 high dps chars and 1 cleric. I went with fury spec on war for added dps, but was Arms spec from 10-58, which is also a great dps spec. at high end you can still solo 1-2 mobs at a time but you spend a fortune in repairs/potions/bandaids/food. Not to mention warrior is VERY gear dependent. Higher levels =more expensive gear=higher repair bills, so on and so forth. However if hack and slash is your game, warrior is second only to the rogue, and with the right gear warrior can REALLY dump some damage.

druid/mage/priest/warlock = a bunch of soft panzies. (high dps/good healing, but very tasty) sorry i hate playing casters of any sort.

Paladin fun, decent dps now after TBC released, can throw spot heals for hours on end. UBER quest mounts, and UBER mount speed buff at high end. well rounded off tank/off healer. decent class, but kill too slow for my blood at lower levels.

enjoy the info's

1. Paladin =)
2. I think the whole leveling thing is all realitive. See, I can't, no matter how much fun WoW is at times, play it like it's a religion. So by default, my toons always are a few steps behind the crowd.. and I'm okay with that. When you reach the max level, you'll be nothing but bored most of the time anyway.. so my play style is more or less a 'stop and smell the roses' kinda thing.. Paladins as a class don't deal damage well, more like they endure a lot of crap which in my opinion outweights their DPS issues. It's hard to knock a well skilled paladin on their bum provided they know what they're doing and all their skills are charged. I've rarely died with my pally on my own unless I've gone and done something stupid without thinking things through enough. It took me sometime to reach 60 (back then it was the max) .. probably about just a wee bit less than a year. I got TBC like the 2nd day of the release, and I'm still not even 70 yet. =)
3. Paladins pretty much become off tank/healers later on in the game.. pretty much doomed to assisting the other DPSers and healers in the game. I like being useful like that, so it works for me. (having played an EQ Paladin in the past, I'm just grateful I'm good for something!)

I'm not gonna say which class you should play, thats totally up to you to decide. I also love playing my Gnome Warlock from time to time. So, it's all realitive, like I said. There has not been one class I've really disliked.. just ones I play better than others =)
