Does anyone have any recomendations? My lil shammy finally reached the prestigious and mighty lvl 10, and all of the specs sound good. I'm kind of leaning more along the lines of enhancements.. but I don't imagine Shaman being a physical DPS style class.. of course I could easily be very wrong.. I have never grouped with shamans, so I have no idea what they can be capable of.

It's kind of been Alt day since Big G hit the big 7-0 .. so my other toons are gettin worked on again...

NICE!!!
Big Grats on the 70 level!!
You might want to talk to Dolt or Emmy about their Shamans to get a view from two of the three specs.

I am going enhancement myself, and I am pretty sure that I do nearly as much dps as a rogue at level 30. And i am spanking hunter damage without question. My Wind weapon buff is rockin. Drop a stoneskin totem, drop a mana totem, drop a fire totem, hit them with lightening bolt, hit them with lightening bolt, hit them with fire dot, hit them with mace for 250 crit 3 times, mob is dead and im still at 3 quarters mana.

I went a little spirit heavy and im splitting that with my agility/int so i get fast mana regen and the crit bonus from agility. will slowly swap out agility for spirit as i get older.

I went enhancement and am currently 61. I really enjoy it. There are some mobs that deal me alot of damage but there are just as many that I chew up fast. I havent instanced yet so cant speak for how it works in a group but Dolt is running high end instances as an enhancement.

I'm currently enjoying a dual wield enhancement spec Shaman. The dps is generally on par with what you'd expect to see from a melee dps class and shows a great potential. People really seem to appreciate the totem bonuses from having me in a group as well...Strength of Earth, Grace of Air, Mana Spring, and Flametongue are my best friends. Just as with any other melee dps, let the tank do his job or plan on getting killed; it's a bit tougher to back off the threat list because you have no skills for it.

Leveling for me was enhancement all the way. One hander with shield until I could get two-handed weapons...then I played around with the burst dps until I could get dual wield. You have to learn how to manage your downtime, but there will always be some with this spec if you gear up to maximize AP and crit. I leveled very fast and still don't seem to have much trouble with the solo grind after 70.

I think I'm leaning more towards enchanement.. all that healing I have to do with Galza just makes me want to DPS the heck out of things..

Out of curiousity, does that flame weapon buff spell pass on to the off hand? I got this nasty idea in mind.. =D

With my current setup, I use windfury on my main hand and flametongue on my off-hand. The flametongue totem is only useful for the people in my party because the buffs don't stack.

I just repsecc'd to elemental at 61...really like it..good damage, mana efficient and the shield is great for mitigation. Plus healing after a fight takes little mana...if caster DPS holds any interest for you =)
