ok well I should be asleep now, But gonna post this Cause my brain is on the Move, After doing things like getting my netherdrake And Grinding the Living daylights out of doing it, Avoiding 72+ Dragons That want to Pummel me with the Hammer Sky and Nyt and Red ( on his pally) carries around, I was Doing something I usually don't do, I was going and Looking @ Stats, now Y would I do something Crazy like that, I have always said I don't really look @ Stuff like that Cause well Normally i Dont' yes I am Capping almost Every Letter i type Gimmie a Break it's 2AM, Anyway,
When I look @ My Stats on beer I notice one thing a rogues AP is Usually 20 Lower than There Agi, am I Correct on this ? Or is it just on me ? The Reason i ask is Simply B/c in Trade and guild i saw Tref Asking for Mongoose on his Weaps. I was thinking.. IF i add 240 Agi to me how much would it benefit me and my Play Style. I sat, I thought about it I ripped off All my Armor and Looked @ me From Base Stats mins health and such, Then Anytime i added back my Agi Gear I noticed All my AP was Always 20 lower than My Agi, Now i don't know Formulas and I Suck @ Math but if I were to get the Emerald Ripper and the Malachnezzer or what Ever you Spell it like from the Prince in Kara I know i would want to add the Mongoose to them. That is just me thou Cause well I R NUTZ. So does anyone know the "formula" for AGI to AP for sure if you do I would Like to know it cause well to be Honest I am not doing to much right now. yes I would like to get my Tank Keyed for Kara, So incase something Happens and we Need a Tank, For any Run Being Team A or Team B or Team Zebra lol i said ... nm Then i would be able to help them out. in Any way I can AS LONG as there is nothing else that night We All know i am Pretty open to most things when it comes to Game play... and My Warrior can Take a small beating here and there as is , But now i am Just Rambling

Cats can work out mathematically the exact place to sit that will cause most inconvenience.

WOW I am way behind in this forum section. Somehow it was not being tagged with the little star indicating new posts.
There are two answers to this question.
1. The direct answer.
Rogues gain 1 Attack Power for every 1 point of Agility. That is the mechanics you will see on your character sheet in the game.
2. The all-encompassing answer.
Rogues gain more effectiveness from agility beyond just the attack power number. It also affects crit rate, dodge, parry, etc., etc.
Sooo... in order to compare pieces of gear, the rogue community developed a new measurement called "AEP." That stands for Agility Equivalence Points.
Here is the Main Hand Weapon AEP comparison formula to convert all stats into AEP, or in other words how to compare the benefit of different stats:
Main Hand AEP Formula: .33 Avg. Dam. = 1 Agi = 20 Sta = 2 Str = 1 Hit = 1 Crit = 2 AP = 100 Resil = 1 Haste = 1 Wp Skill = 66.6 Def = 100 Dod/Par/Arm = .25 B Gem = .133 R/Y Gem = .05 Meta Gem
The main thing that sticks out is 1 AGI = 2 AP. You don't actually see your AP go up 2 points evey time you add 1 AGI, but it will impact your total effectiveness as a rogue and damage you do. You will do more effective damage from AP, Crits and also take less damage from dodges, parries, defense, etc.
A great resource is Shadowpanther.net. It's an excellent site for rogues and rogue gear. It has tons of charts. They also have slightly different AEP formulas depending on your preference for PVP, and different play styles of PVE.
BTW, Mongoose rules! It procs every fight. With it on both weapons, it often double procs in a fight (maybe 1 in 3). Especially on longer PVE fights, it adds a tremendous boost. Mongoose is insanely expensive (about 500g for mats), but it's worth putting on a weapon you plan to use for a long time.

| I have a list of enchanters (outside guild/slack) that can do mongoose. I seem to recall that someone got that recipe recently. It dropped for one of the teams in the guild. |

Chrily got it with Sabria from Moroes and very nicely applied it to both my Arena daggers. I had to snatch all but three of the void crystals from the AH (some guildies very kindly offered me one though), while the rest of the mats Mkeyai furnished for me <3. I spent an average of 20G a pop on the crystals, but I know the other mats are just as spendy.
It is so worth it though. It procs like mad and has easily added about another 50-100DPS to me on average. |
