Hey Gang, One of the "features" that was implemented in my old guild was a pseudo guild bank of patterns and materials. This was basically just an alt that everyone mailed crafting patterns and materials to. The way it worked was that as players quested and came across patterns/materials that they didn't need they would be mailed to the alt (usually managed by a guild officer). Usually after a while the "mule" would have a collection of stuff that players in the guild could then check on and utilize. This was particulary bennificial in helping out new characters up their crafting skills without having to break the bank buying patterns and such. Obviously players aren't expected to mail every single item they come across to the mule as there is pretty good money to be made by selling stuff; just maybe an item every now and then. The only two downfalls of this were the time necessary to maintain the alt (though in a guild of our size I don't think it would be that bad; also there are bank mods that will allow you to check the bank contents of other toons not logged in), and players taking advantage of the system IE taking tons of stuff from the "mule" but never contributing anything back (again I don't think we would have an issue here either). On a side note, my old guild also did this with armor and weapons, however that is another topic. So what do you guys think... yeah? nay? Go jump of a bridge? --Drahgon |

I think it's a great idea. We could start a forum thread in the guild house with the recipes available, and someone (me?) could code up an app with a nice UI to deal with it - depending on what you guys think. Lord knows I have plenty of extra 200+ recipes in my bank. Any thoughts? Anyone want to help code it? |

I think this is a great idea! It would be so helpful to the many crafters in the guild. My old guild did this as well, and with armor, weapons etc, but any starts would be great :-) Just my 2 cents :-) |

This is a nice idea. We've sort of informally offered recipes and stored them in our own vaults. I think it is a great idea for things like crafting recipes. I am not as convinced it is as necessary or helpful to warehouse gear. Guild gear banks often end up becoming dumping grounds :-). There really isn't a lot of storage space available on characters. For recipes/formulas, the guild vault toon could just keep 2 or 3 max of each recipe and then reject the rest. That would keep it manageable. |
