I made a handy chart of all the classes and the loot drops they need in Zul'Gurub for various purposes.  I posted it as a PDF file in the library section for guildies to download.

Enjoy.

lol. I just posted the same thought in the UBRS raid thread.

I've been mostly avoiding ZG because, frankly, keeping track of the loot drops and quests there are so complicated they even scared away me (an accountant no less) :-D

I had no idea what I needed, what I should roll on, or what I was supposed to collect and do. After pouring over descriptions and walkthroughs on a couple sites, I put together that chart just so I could make heads or tails of it all.

It really isn't so bad. Now I even feel comfortable leading a raid there again. I wasn't really happy with how the loot was handled on that one raid we started there (which was my own fault for not understanding). I think what I would do in the future is have a master looter assigned to gather up all the coins and bijous. We could then roll on all them after the raid and divide the spoils. The primals would have to be rolled on the spot because they are BoP.

I still have to figure out some way of balancing people needing coins and bijous for class gear quests against the greed rolls everyone would want for turning in 3-coin sets for honor tokens (faction boosts and shoulder enchant purchase).

We have the #s for a 20-man raid, but it would require pretty much every single lvl 60 guildmate we currently have.

Folks who would push us from 17 (15 on 1st raid + 1 replacement on 2nd + tref who bowed out of 1st raid) that i can think of:
oof
basillum
(drawing a blank; pick someone close)

Sabre (70 warrior)
Sceptre (70 warlock)
Thornkiss (70 priest)
Chibi (62 rogue)
and a slew of others, 9 - 53

Even if we fill in with a few NWA people, it would still work great.

I am actually very excited about Zul'Gurub now!!!  I've taken more time to look at all the enchantments and gear you can get.  Let me tell you, stacking 2 of those enchantments (head + legs) are like getting a whole additional epic-quality item on your body.

The priest head/leg enchants are:

+10 Sta, 4mana/5sec regen, and +24 healing EACH!!

Then the shoulder enchant is +33 healing.

That is on top of the stats you already have on an item.  And these are for items slots that can not normally be enchanted.  This is HUGE!

The other class enchants are equally impressive.  Then you can also get some really nice gear there through quests, and the regular drops are nothing to laugh at either.

I am going to push myself to become the Zul'Gurub expert and lead a lot of raids there I think.

ZUL’GURUB LOOT SYSTEM:

A method to the madness.  A balance between dividing the spoils correctly and keeping the raid moving quickly.  Most of the valuable items are collected by a Master Looter and distributed after the raid when there is time to sort through all the stuff and decide who needs what.

*******************************************************

Coins: Class-Specific Gear Quests and parts of 3-Coin Sets

*******************************************************

Coins will be gathered by the Master Looter and distributed at the end of the raid.

On each of the following types of coins, *all* players may make a greed roll on each coin type.  The coins of that type will be distributed 1 each to the players from highest roll to lowest roll.  If there are enough coins, we start back at the top of the list and work down again.

Coins: Gurubashi, Hakkari, Razzashi, Vilebranch, Witherbark, Zulian.

*******************************************************

Coins: Class-Specific Gear Quests Only

*******************************************************

Coins will be gathered by the Master Looter and distributed at the end of the raid.

On each of the following types of coins, only players that can use these coins for class-specific gear quests may roll on each coin type.  The coins of that type will be distributed 1 each to the players from highest roll to lowest roll.  If there are enough coins, we start back at the top of the list and work down again.

Coins: Bloodscalp, Sandfury, Skullsplitter.

*******************************************************

Bijous: Class-Specific Gear Quests

*******************************************************

Bijous will be gathered by the Master Looter and distributed at the end of the raid.

On each type of Bijou, only players that can use the Bijou for class-specific gear quests may roll on each type.  The Bijous of that type will be distributed 1 each to the players from highest roll to lowest roll.  If there are enough Bijous, we start back at the top of the list and work down again.

Bijous: Blue, Bronze, Gold, Green, Orange, Purple, Red, Silver, Yellow

*******************************************************

Primals: Class-Specific Gear Quests

*******************************************************

Primals are Bind-on-Pickup and must be rolled on as soon as they are identified.  They drop from bosses.

On each type of Primal, only players that can use the Primal for class-specific gear quests may roll on each type.  A player may only win 1 primal per raid unless there are exceptional circumstances (such as nobody else claiming to need or want one that drops).  They will always be given to someone who can use the primal.

Primals: Aegis, Armsplint, Bindings, Girdle, Kossack, Sash, Shawl, Stanchion, Tabard.

*******************************************************

Special Drops: For Class Trinkets

*******************************************************

Bind-on-Pickup special items must be rolled on as soon as they are identified.  Bind-on-Equip items will be gathered by the Master Looter and distributed at the end of the raid.

These are special drops that are needed to get your class-specific trinkets and/or for Head & Leg Enchantments.  All players may make a greed roll on each item.  Players may only win 1 special item drop per raid unless there are exceptional circumstances (such as nobody else claiming to need or want one that drops).  Class-Specific Voodoo Dolls can only be rolled on by people of the correct class.

Special Items: Punctured Voodoo Doll, Gri’lek’s Blood, Renataki’s Tooth, Wushoolay’s Mane, Hazza’rah’s Dream Thread, Pristine Black Diamonds, and other items identified by the raid leader as special.

Jathy and I went on a ZG run yesterday with SLACK.  I must admit, I am completely confused on how the loot works in there.  Coins and Bijous were picked up but I can't figure out how they are to be distributed or even what needs to be done with them.  There was a blue drop and they mentioned something about the enchant being more important than the item.

The first boss, can't remember the name, was some snake and wasn't too difficult.  We plowed through this encounter fairly easily.  The next boss was some Bloodlord on a mount.  This turned out to be very difficult.  The tactic was to kill the mount first while the boss was tanked by the MT.  The kicker to this encounter is this, there are these chained ghosts that fly around and allow you to rez but with each successive rez the boss becomes larger and stronger.  I think that is a bad thing to do.  Both times we tried this encounter, and failed, I think that when we started working on the boss he was already too large and strong for us to handle.  1-2 hits on a caster and you are taking a dirt nap.

Zul'Gurub is a wicked hard place. I personally think it is much more difficult than molten core. It just takes fewer people. I don't know how they were running loot that day.
