Interesting - now was that a virgin, dry soap bar? Or one that's been wetted down? I wouldn't have thought there was enough moisture in the soap bar to get a reaction in the microwave.
Also intriguing how he opens the microwave, yet still has the camera looking through the door. Conspiracy?
But excellent video! |

I don't understand ...
They put a bar of soap in the microwave oven. The microwaves melt it and it gets all foamy. That seems pretty much what I would expect.
I kept waiting for an unexpected explosion or maybe for it to burst into flames or something. I was watching it at work, so I had the audio turned off. Did I miss something there? |

But if there's no moisture - nothing happens. Is there moisture in soap?
Hmmm...maybe I need to use more expensive soap...I don't think the free soap from the hotels would do that. |

| Dove is one of those more "natural" types of soap. I imagine it has something in it that reacts to microwaves. Pre-industrial era soap was made from animal fats and lye. Animal or vegetable fats would have moisture in them. I'm guessing whatever is in Dove that makes it soft and maleable and replaces the function of animal or vegetable fats has the same properties (or similar). |
