I have Photoshop CS , Illustrator CS and ImageReady CS at my disposal. Very powerful tools. However, my "Pencil and Paper" is in fact. Windows Paint. Why? Too many restrictions in the others listed beforehand.

I have cardboard, construction paper in many colors, vellum, parchment, chalkboards, erasers, markers and pens at my disposal.

My pencil and paper is ... a pencil and a piece of paper.

Actually, I also use the GIMP a little because it's free. 2 of my kids are constantly downloading cracked copies Photoshop C2. I erase them when I find them and tell them to knock it off. It's mostly because I don't want them downloading viruses AND especially viewing the spicy banner ads often found on sites providing cracking info.
