Hey Dhry.
Yes, we are all home and doing well. The baby scored a 9 both times on her Apgar test, and is just healthy as can be. Mom (me) is feeling like she was hit by a mac truck, but every time I look at little Liz I forget the pain (mostly, lol) :-) Dad is doing great, and has found his new perfect little love. He was also a wonderful cheerleader and helped more than I can say!
Will post more later. Really tired. Talk to you all again soon. |

No broken fingers, but a nice sized bruize on his hand. He didn't notice til a few hours later. Almost 5 days later and it's still big and painful. :p
Well, it wasn't fun for me :p, but Sim says he had fun, lol. He cracked jokes pretty much the whole time, trying to lighten the mood. He says at delivery she looked like a wet Sharpei trying to come in a cat door :p I kept in good humor pretty much, except the for the pushing part. I told Sim during the pushing that I was finally angry at him. The Dr. said if it took that long for me to get mad at him, he must be doing something right!
Sorry for anyone if that was TMI.
Edit, Saphyre posted just when I did. :p I'm feeling pretty worn out, as can be expected. Still, it'll all heal Thanks so much, she is a little angel
Anyone notice that Sim looks like he needs to get a little sunlight. He said he looks like he's wearing a white shirt under that black one. He's paler than the baby! lol |

I actually commented to Mkeyai "Wow Sym looks like he needs to get some sun. Pay-stee"
He is one happy pappy though, or thinking "In my arms, my final key to world domination!" |

Yes, world domination is on my mind. I'll teach her to be my sidekick. Once I get out and get some sun, I'll have to rename myself to "Suntan man" with my trusty sidekick "Lotion girl". I think part of the reason I look that way is the contrast between that really black shirt and my skin. If I wear anything else, it's not so noticeable. I should get out into the sun more often though. I guess thats the price you pay for having l33t skills on the puter.
Edit: Though looking back at that pic now, I do have to admit, she does have better coloring than I do. heheh |

Here's a couple newer pics of Aroura and Elizabeth. She'll probably kill me for picking the ones I did to share, but this is what I do.
This one, I was making some comment that had her laughing hard. Elizabeth was not amused.

Week one has been a little difficult with loss of sleep and Elizabeth having grow spurts and colic. She gets so uncomfortable sleeping from it that she wakes up and wants us to hold her. Though she's feeling bad, I'm amazed that she's actually a pretty quiet baby. She doesn't do the hours of crying a lot of baby's do. We're dealing with the loss of sleep pretty well also. We've had a few times of doubt, but we're holding up. We're trying to avoid bottle feeding completely, along with avoiding pacifiers. So we have to be as attentive as possible. Yet she still doesn't cry much, just when she's really upset and only til someone picks her up. We're thankful for that. The one thing that really is an odd change is finding time to do anything. Even showering is something you have to schedule in. It's been rough, but we keep each other in good spirits. I keep Aroura laughing and amused, which helps. I've been around a lot of babies in my life, so I've been able to use what I know to make things a little easier for Aroura. It's helped a lot. Anyway, we're all doing pretty well considering the lack of sleep, finding the time to eat and getting in a shower now and then. |

Lack of sleep ... yeah, there really isn't much getting around that. You just gotta tough it out for a while.
You can sleep in again in about 6 or 7 years :-) (when they can get up, make their own bowl of cereal and watch cartoons)
We had all of our children sleep with us. That and the nursing deal made for the least disturbance. Baby always felt safe and comfortable being near us, and well ... the food is ready and on tap :-) (no bottles to warm up).
We invested early on in a big king-sized set of matresses. Our youngest turns 5 today, and we still end up half the time with him somewhere sprawled out in the bed by morning. He'll wander in during the night sometimes. |

Grats you two. Glad that you're showering from time to time.
I'm just laughing inside: some day Elizabeth's gonna find out that she has baby pictures floating around in cyberspace and during those teenage years: "Mom! Dad! how could you!?!?"
