The connection to the internet is critical. I don't know if the Wii's are shipping different now, but we needed to download several OS updates before we could get certain things working. I seem to recall the memory cards were not working right until we got connected to TEH INTARWEBZ

The newer models already had most of the fixes. Save for the latest patch they did, the only downloading we've done is games for the Virtual Console, and swapping Mii's with Dhrydan. We keep forgetting to add Jureal's friend code, but we will!

Doh! One of the roommates and his wii are moving out soon... I'll be removing (your info from) his wii. :P

Talk about subtle, no one is going to get that... "what? why did he put quotes arou... ooooo..." lol

Anyway, I don't supposed it'll be long before I have my very own; when I do, I'll grab your codes again. :)

Anyone sad that they haven't been able to get ahold of a Nintendo Wii yet? Well, no you don't have to wait on your lame store to put enough out or be sad that you live out in the middle of no where!

check this out:http://www.kristian-hermansen.com/wordpress/2007/09/04/how-to-buy-a-nintendo-wii-in-5-minutes/

1) Call Nintendo at 1-800-255-3700

2) Select the option for “Wii Issues”

3) Explain to the representative that you are frustrated because you have been trying to locate the console in stores near you for weeks now, but they sell out on the same day they come in. Explain that you have heard it is not uncommon. Ask if there is a shortage of Nintendo Wii consoles, and why they are not producing more to meet demand.

4) They should transfer you to someone else who deals with these issues. They will gladly offer you a “one time” exception to order directly through them.

5) Supply them your personal info, credit card number, billing address, and shipping address.

neat on the ordering. We got ours from Nintendo too...although no delivery necessary. ;)

Bigshot and Beer - I'll add you when I get my Wii set back up. We're getting hardwood floors put in over the next week and a half, so the consoles have been disconnected from the TV and put down in storage until the installation, sanding, and finishing is done.
